Burnt Offerings

The views of the sea from the temple are excellent and a good reason to visit the temple even if you are not particularly interested in temples as such.  On the tiny balcony that stands above the steep drop to the sea people make burnt offerings and light incense sticks. Hence the small half enclosed box into which burning items may be placed which has therefore developed quite a blackened interior.
